Description:
Green's miniature cerith is a small snail, growing only 1/8 - 1/4 inch in
length. The shell is shiny and elongate, slightly fusiform, with
approximately 8 whorls. The sutures are indistinct. Rows of
tiny, glass-like beads revolve around the shell. The aperture is
small, with a slightly flaring lip in the adults. Overall shell color is
brown, with lighter colored beading.
Habitat:
Green's miniature cerith is a common inhabitant of the shallow
intertidal and subtidal zones.
Range:
Green's miniature cerith ranges from Cape Cod, Massachusetts south through
Bermuda, both coasts of Florida, Central America, and Brazil.
