Description:
The longfinger fiddler crab, also called Ive's fiddler crab, reaches only 2/5 inch carapace length.  Color is variable, depending on season, but is generally green-brown, brown or gray.  Chelae are typically white.  An oblique row of large tubercles, all similar in size, are found on the palm, slightly behind the joint of the upper, moveable finger. 

Habitat:
These small crabs are very common in the muddy areas of saltmarshes, mangroves, and shorelines, typically in protected areas above the mid-tide line.

Range:  
Longfinger fiddler crabs range throughout Florida and Cuba.

 Longfinger fiddler crabs often live in large groups of more than 200 per square yard!
