FUNDING:
Initial funding for the expansion of the Indian River Lagoon Species Inventory database was provided by grants to the Smithsonian Marine Station from St. John's Water Management District, through its Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program (24%),  the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (24%), the United States Environmental Protection Agency (52%), as well as the Smithsonian Institution Seidell Grant Program.

Renewed funding is being provided by the Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program and the Board of County Commissioners, St. Lucie County, Florida.
