The Site Plan
for the 8-acre campus at 701 Seaway Drive, Fort Pierce, Florida
is to be developed in phases. The first phase, completed in early
1999 includes the Tyson
House, a residence donated to house visiting scientists,
and an 8,000 square foot laboratory (Phase
I Laboratory), as well as the requisite retention pond.
The second phase was construction of a dock at the end of the
access easement. The dock was completed in 2004. A research aquarium
building was completed in early 2006. Other facilities in
the site plan, to be developed as funds become available, include
additional residences for visiting scientists and a 25,000 square-foot,
state-of-the-art building to house marine laboratories and administration.
Support for the remaining phases will require a fund-raising effort.
